When the show proved popular in re-airings on Cartoon Network's Toonami block, Cloverway, Inc. This would be the last series licensed by DiC Entertainment. Compared to the first series, which had 6 episodes removed, only 1 was removed from R (episode 67). Due to the time gap, Sailor Mars and Tuxedo Mask's voice actors were unavailable and had to be replaced. However Irwin Toys ended up paying for the final 17 episodes to be dubbed in 1997. Due to DiC only being interested in a standard 65-episode cartoon only the first 25 episodes were dubbed. The dub of R first aired on the Canadian channel YTV from October 25 to Novemand later in Syndication in the United States the same year. Sailor Moon R was originally dubbed alongside the first series by DiC Entertainment, with much of the same mandated edits as the previous season.
